The Blockchain Opportunity in Africa
Africa is one of the World’s last great growth regions. In the coming decades, as Africa’s population doubles to two billion people, its GDP has been predicted to increase from $2 trillion today to $29 trillion in today’s money by 2050. The conditions for growth and disruption are huge. Currently:
- Two-thirds of the population is under the age of 24.
- The world’s fastest growing mobile market, with three quarters of the population owning a mobile device.
- Over 350 million unbanked adults.
- 54 disparate currencies, some with high inflation and backed by unstable governments.
With a growing population and expanding economy, Blockchain has the potential to provide the technology infrastructure to overcome the hurdles of massive growth and economically unite the African continent.
What is Kamari?
